Hi everyone! New here. I have set up my telescope on my balcony. It faces east southeast. There is a balcony above me so I can’t see that high in the sky. Can anyone suggest some targets to image? I am using Explore Scientific ED127 refractor on Explore Scientific EXos2 PMC Eight mount.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

That kind of view is challenging because available targets will vary a lot depending on the time of year. This is true for any location/view, but for narrow views like yours, this is particularly true.

I suggest you take a look at the following topic discussing how you can filter targets for East/West views. Basically, you need to play with your time window and sort targets by transit/rise/set time.

I hope this helps!

When your visibility is limited to the East or West, you will have to play with the observing time window, and it’s probably better understood with an example. Let’s say you are planning a session tonight from 10pm until 2am and you want to see objects in the East. Obje…
