I think the correct aspect ratio is 16x9 but the telescope simulator shows 4x3.
Hey, thanks for reporting this. You are correct in that the aspect ratio is wrong, but the sensor is also right. The problem, it seems, is that the telescope crops the final image - it has a 48MP sensor and it ends up with a 8.3MP image, because of binning and cropping.
I’ll try to squeeze a fix for this one later this week, thanks again!
Version 5.15.24 now adds features for builtin smart telescopes to define a cropped view, and binning.
This is already functional in the new Planetarium, which is due to replace the current simulator at the end of the month.
I’ll let you know if I manage to squeeze the fix in the existing simulator before that.
Works very well for me now in the old simulator. Thanks. Weirdly I can’t get the beta simulator to work now. It never seems to stop loading.
oh, beautiful side effect that I got it working for you too!
Regarding the new planetarium, the infinite loading should be fixed in the latest version 5.15.28. Would you mind trying it and letting me know if it loads ok for you after updating?
All good in 5.15.28 - new simulator and planetarium both load and all Seestar S50 Pro and S30 Pro framings look good.
That’s awesome, thanks for letting me know!
