iPad suggestions don’t match PC

See pic, why don’t ipad Imaging Time suggestions for dark sky page one with the same settings match the PC.

There are several reasons why this could be happening, but I’m afraid I can’t tell you exactly why by looking at that picture. Some ideas to check:

  • Location mismatch in Observatory Settings
  • Different date
  • Different search filters (sometimes it’s not very evident and one needs to scroll down and check all of them)
  • One device is using the essential database while the other is using the extended database
  • Different app version - I fixed the imaging time sorting a couple of weeks ago, and if one of your devices is still running the older version that could be the problem.

You are getting galaxies on the left and nebulas on the right - maybe the object type filter is set differently?

Sure I’ll go thru each and check them and reply. I would be ideal if the same signon would store and use the same setting from the cloud instead of locally. There were refreshed and done on the same date with same id, etc. , same catalogs, etc., but I’ll double check.

A long time ago the search was actually synced between devices, but that would cause issues when you wanted to have different searches on different devices.

I usually start my searches by resetting the whole form, to make sure I’m not missing some filter down there.

Figured it out, sorry, it was this control , one had NE, one had “all”. Note screen on the right. Again, I wish these controls were ‘universal’ and stored in the cloud and shared amongst all devices, but i understand its locally set.
