"North" and "South" on elevation chart

This probably has an obvious answer, but what does “north” and “south” refer to on the elevation chart?

It means you can find that object looking north or south at the moment of highest altitude / transit.

Previously the chart showed “transit: North/South”, but it was modified slightly now that you can mouse over the curve and see the azimuth at any point in the entire series, not just the transit. Maybe I need to re-add the transit label!

Thanks. I thought that’s what it meant.
