One thought for a consideration :)

Good afternoon Sebastian, hello everyone :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m a big fan and a loyal user of the Telescopius, particularly the Telescope Simulator - I base mostly on it when I plan my astrophotography. A few months ago I started working with mosaics and a certain inconsistency became more noticeable. I work with a few browser tabs opened that are appropriate for projects I’m planning or working with. If one project is based on the mosaic or another telescope/lens is used, then the settings apply to all tabs. As I wrote, it’s a conceptual work, so nothing bad happens, but perhaps there is any way to make the tabs independent from others?

Tell me please if I do something wrong or just add it to the ‘to do’ list if it’s doable. :slightly_smiling_face:

CS, Martha

Recently I found a thread and an advice about adding another location. I tried it right now and my conclusion is as follows:

  1. I’m easily able to add another horizon to the second location which is very helpful at the rear of my garden. Two browser tabs keep the different horizons and I can switch between them.

  2. The DSO selected in a tab using one location is copied to another location (another tab) even if I selected another object earlier.

  3. Settings of the mosaic (or reducing it to a single panel) in one tab (location) is copied to the second one, as above.

I believe that both independently selected objects and mosaic settings can be kept in the tabs as they are in the case of the horizon. Please, add it to your ‘to-do’ list. :slightly_smiling_face:

You are correct. Different tabs should behave differently. This is an old bug that I can probably fix easier nowadays. I’ll see what I can do and update this topic when I fix it.

Small update: I’ve checked all the places where this happened and the good news is that I was able to switch the behavior in most places quite easily - that is, don’t sync between tabs unless you leave the page and come back again, or refresh the tab. This will be released in the coming days.

However, for the Telescope Simulator it’s more challenging because of how it’s done. Some settings are now saved individually and switching the behavior could end up with weird framings when you refresh the page. I’ll have to spend more time there, or maybe include this consideration in the upcoming Simulator, due in a few months, which is built from the ground up with a new technology and many other improvements. Stay tuned

Thank you, Sebastian. I’m happy to wait longer for its better version. I rely on the Telescope Simulator and use it as frequently as the NINA.
