Telescope Simulator for wide field images

I really like the telescope simulator. It is very useful for framing a target or planning a mosaic.
However, I find the tool less practical for wide-field images because, whatever the survey used, when you choose a small focal length (50mm for example) the image is very pixelated and difficult to read.

Here is an example at 420mm with a very nice displayed image:

And here is an exemple at 50mm with a very pixelated image:

I’m not sure what happens technically when you change the displayed field of view, but it would be nice to be able to keep a correct resolution.

Another (unrelated) thing I’d like to have is the ability to display constellation lines, as these are useful landmarks (or rather skymarks…) for very wide field images.

I know this isn’t related kind of, but I might know how to do it. Is there a way to rotate the image to frame it how I would like to see the image before taking it?

Hello @xchaser

It is possible to rotate the framing in the Telescope Simulator. You have a Position Angle cursor in the “My Cameras” tab on the left.
